Woman’s best friend

I just can’t think of anything useful to write tonight, folks.  My apologies. To mollify the blow, I offer my dog.  He never fails to bring a smile to my face.  I hope he does the same for you.

That ‘crit’ in the title should be said like a swear word: Aaaah, shit. Today my novel (first novel, if you don’t know) came up in the critique queue over on Critters. And, believe it or not, though it’s only been less than 24 hours since the manuscript got delivered by the Critter Captain’s minions, I got … More Ah…crits

Wait. Do I mean K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple, Stupid? Nope! I mean: Keep It Clear, Stupid. 😀  K.I.C.S. Catchy, no? Actually, it’s just a form acknowledgement letter of our submissions, but, still, the editor didn’t have to put that sentence … More The Gentle Editor

Out on a limb

New haunt, new grounds, Makes an old dog run around; In his way is a big tree, Up he goes to have a pee! Yes, folks, that’s my best attempt at poetry.  I know, I know, I should be embarrassed, but I’m not. Poetry is not my thing.  I admire those who can turn a … More Out on a limb

Flashed me one

Well, I done wrote me a flash piece and sent it in – all done under two hours! What’s wrong with me? Note to all new writers: Do not send in a piece prior to giving yourself some space to let the story rest. I’m sure when I re-read the story in a day or … More Flashed me one
