I got my second crit for Devil’s Blood! I’ll probably only get three crits total out of critters (that includes the STOP! one), but the two I have on board are doing line edits as well as some substantial editing – pure gold!
Lots of work to do on the WiP, but I think it is coming along. The next draft should be ready by early next year or maybe even the end of this year if I manage to get some time off from work and family.
Then I just have to figure out where to get some new, fresh readers to read the next draft. I’m wondering if the manuscript has changed enough so I can go bug my very first readers…
In the meantime, I’ve begun thinking again about the meta-writing needed (as I’ve decided to self-publish – will write a post on that later). I put up my first attempt at SFFWorld.com and got some great feedback. I hope to re-do that soon, too.
I’ve started a new short story (fun!), and have pulled out an old witch story I wrote back in 2009. I hope to enter it for an upcoming anthology about witches (East-West Press). I re-read the story this weekend and found I still like it enough to try to fix the writing.
My last two short story submissions have been rejected. Ah, well.
And…I’m doing NaNoWriMo next month! Woohoo!
My posts on this blog will suffer for it. I’ve joined Emmie Mears‘s challenge, and will be posting my word count on this blog every day in the month of November. It may get a little repetitive or silent. I won’t blame you if you ignore me for the next month or so, because I may just have to ignore you all. 😦
Catch ya on the other side!
Just keep chugging through your story.
Yup – that’s the general idea. 😀
I gave you the Versatile Blogger Award in my blog today! Thanks for always stopping by with encouragement! I appreciate it and love your blog. November’s going to be crazy, but we can do it!
Wow – Emmie. THANKS! I’ll display it proudly tomorrow and pass it on. Hmmm, fifteen of ’em? I’ll try. 🙂
