I just finished reading Marina Bridges’ Pickers and Pickled Punks. A collection of odd, fictional short stories about one of America’s favorite past times – exchanging our junk through garage sales, picking, and auctions – this little book entertains and highlights human oddities both real and imagined.
Ms. Bridges, first time author, has a knack of illuminating the strange truth of a situation or creating a subtle nightmare out of an old childhood memory. Her prose is easy to read and I found myself immersed in the oddity of the rural American countryside – to my pleasure.
A recommended read. 🙂
