There’s a reason why junkyard dogs have collars made of chain

and not mamby-pamby rope, leather or fabric.

Alby's broken collar
Alby's broken collar

While tethered outside enjoying the sun, a rabbit ran across the lawn and Alby, our 12-year-old-supposed-to-be-getting-old dog, gave chase.

  1. Yikes. I have a dog who’s broken every sort of collar, up to and including chain. And now you’re telling me old age doesn’t matter? Double yikes! (hope Alby came home safe and sound)

    1. Yes, he came home safe and sound. Thank you.

I’m guessing the collar was getting old, but, you know, so’s he. I know I couldn’t have done that.

It is amazing how much strength the little buggers have, though. As your dog demonstrated over and over, if they really want something, they’ll get it.

I should take a lesson from that, if I really want to get published…I’ll break something? Hmmm, didn’t transfer over too well. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. That collar did look rather nice though. Looks like a Circle-T or Hamilton brand. Shame that it broke, since well made leather collars should last longer than five years, but well, it happens. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Get it out of your system
