Mothers are an invention of necessity. Without them, we wouldn’t know how to tie our shoes, wipe our nose, or say ‘Thank you’ and ‘Please’. If you didn’t have a mother, who would tell you ‘Don’t eat that, it’s disgusting!’ as you picked up the discharge from the family dog?
Well, let me remind you: Your mother is wise beyond belief. She has infinite wisdom and you should obey her commands.
I’ve spent the past few days in agony with the stomach flu. Why? Because someone didn’t wash their hands. Someone who handled my food had either the Astrovirus, Enteric adenovirus, Norovirus, or Rotavirus (I capitalized them because they are fierce enemies, do not be fooled by their size).
These creatures will take over your body, causing fever, chills, aches, intestinal cramps, explosive diarrhoea, and a general malaise that will have you wondering if that dragon you see laying next to you in bed is indeed your husband. I’ve lost 10 pounds in the past 3 days, none of which was fat (damn!). They are not for the faint hearted, or the weak.
Life is fleeting. Here one day, gone the next. If you learn only one thing – ONE THING – in your life, let it be this:
WASH. YOUR. HANDS.
