Initial Feedback

Hello World,

Got some initial feedback, and the verdict: so far, okay.  Looks like I have the core story there, but just got to work out the kinks on a few things and, of course, grammar nits.

How is it that the mind just doesn’t see the difference between, say, blots and bolts?  Or peaks and peeks?

I definitely see those things in works that I critique.  Why not my own?  A mystery I’ll never solve.

Anyway, things sound promising, so I’m allowing myself to start thinking about all the things I need to do to self-publish the thing: illustrations, hire a copy editor, finish the map, and a host of other things I’m not even aware of.

Oh, yeah, the map!!  This is gonna be the best part of the whole process! 😀

As some of you know, I am a map-maker.  Well, not really,  but that’s what I like to call myself.  I’m a geographic information specialist and I like to make maps.  People pay me good money to do it, so I think I’m fairly good at it.  Plus, I love it.  So I’ve been waiting patiently for this moment.  And now that it is here, I’m very ready to get started on it.  Expect to see some drafts posted here soon.

I’m also fleshing out the ideas I have for the second book in the series.  Woohoo!  I love this part!

I know, I know.  Don’t get too ahead of myself, but why not, huh? 🙂

  1. I think it’s a scientific fact that people miss typos in their own work, particularly viewing it in the same medium they wrote it in, because their eyeballs see what they want. Best to print it out and take a red pen to it but, like I said, that’s the last step in the editing process. People like me just have to deal.

Woo! Map! Very excited for that!
